How it worksA clear split, written down.
The service works because everyone knows who owns what. You keep control of your computers and software. We take responsibility for Microsoft 365 and the protection around it.
| We look after | You look after |
|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 setup and administration | Your computers: buying, warranty, repairs and replacement |
| Accounts and access: new staff, leavers, two-step sign-in and sign-in rules | What gets installed on your computers |
| Security policies in Microsoft 365 | Your own software and applications |
| 24/7 threat monitoring, email protection and staff training | Day-to-day troubleshooting on your devices |
| Daily backup of Microsoft 365 mailboxes | Printers, phones and other equipment |
What we need from you
Because you manage your own computers, a few things have to stay in place for the protection to work.
Two-step sign-in stays on
Every account keeps multi-factor authentication enabled.
Sign-in rules stay enforced
The access policies we set in Microsoft 365 are not switched off or worked around.
Settings are not overridden
Security settings in Microsoft 365 stay as configured, and changes come to us as tickets.
We keep admin access
We keep the administrative access needed to manage and protect your Microsoft 365.
When you need hands-on help
For problems your team cannot solve, new computer setups, Wi-Fi and network issues or a small project, remote and onsite support is available in pre-paid 4-hour blocks. You decide when to use it, and we come to you from Mornington when the job needs someone onsite.
Ready to hand over the day-to-day as well?
Self-managed IT suits a business whose team has the everyday under control. When staff start needing help every week, computers multiply, or clients and insurers ask more questions about your IT, a fully managed service with a helpdesk, device management and regular technology reviews is usually the better fit.
